Rule 38
Conservation can be entrusted as religious forest

(1) Any religious organization, group or community that wants to manage the forest area within the conservation area as a protected religious forest according to the management plan must submit an application to the council along with the forest management action plan in the format of schedule-9 BMOJIM for its registration.
(2) If an application is received as per sub-rule (1), the council will conduct the necessary investigation in that regard and if it deems it appropriate to hand over the forest area mentioned in the application in whole or in part, such protection may be registered as a religious forest and handed over to the relevant religious organization, group or community.
(3) In accordance with sub-rule (2), when a religious forest is handed over for protection, a related certificate must also be provided in the format as per Schedule-10.
(4) Kathdaura religious sites available in protected religious forests can only be used for religious activities. When used in this way, it is not allowed to cut down trees in such a way that it may adversely affect the environment or cause soil erosion in the watershed area.
